Victoria bar
-
Potsdamer
Str.102 (Bundesstrasse 1) Tiegarten
- Berlin, 10785
- Telephone: 0049 30 2300 4956
- Hours: 6pm - 3 am daily
One of the newest additions to the Berlin bar scene, the Victoria bar is
a great venue to ease yourself into the night. The interior reeks of style,
decadence and luxury, with leather couches and dark wood panelling as a
backdrop to some great modern art – no wonder it’s just picked up an award
for best interior design. To continue the relaxed vibe, there’s also a great
mix of jazz, soul and Reggae.

Haifisch
- Arndtstrasse 25 Kreuzberg
- Berlin, 10961
Quirky,
laid-back cocktail bar in Kreuzberg, the west Berlin district that once
stood in the shadow of the wall. Friendly, unified bar staff display expert
mixology, cooking up colourful vodka and gin-based cocktails to ambient
techno tunes. The back room has a sushi bar, the front is open for drinks
‘til 3am.

Bar Lounge 808
- Oranienburger Strasse 42-3 Mitte
- Berlin,
- Telephone: 00 49 30 2804 6727
- Hours: Mon -Sun 10am - 3am
The gifted architects who gave us Universum Lounge had already created
this gaudy spot in the hip former East Berlin neighborhood of Mitte a few
years before. The same colors are in evidence, with lavish gilt gold columns
and heavy boudoir style drapes making it all a bit Moulin Rouge. A back
lounge with a large aquarium evokes James Bond glam (or is it Austin
Powers?) and has many plush sofas and chairs to lounge in while listening to
house music. The triangular-shaped front bar though is the place to base
yourself if you want to watch the girls go by through the windows on
Augusstrasse. But keep an eye on the prices. Drinks run the gamut from
Manhattans to Martinis but shaken or stirred they cost a bomb.
