Mexico
has something for everybody! A splendid mix of modern and the traditional,
it’s a travellers paradise!
The capital
Mexico City will sweep you up any time of the year, and it’s
only an hour’s flight from the tropical rainforests and Mayan villages of
Chiapas.
Chichen Itza is a fascinating Mayan city. It’s surrounded by underground
rivers, natural wells and limestone that were used to construct their
magnificent cities that are beginning to reveal their secrets. Main
attractions include the Pyramid of Kukulkán.
For something a little more romantic, head to
Acapulco. Its golden
beaches, tropical jungles, lagoons and famous cliff-divers have made it the
foremost resort town in Mexico.
Cancún has grown into one of the world's best-known holiday resorts. Its
superb location, year-round mild climate and warm, sandy white beaches
washed by the Caribbean Sea are ideal for a variety of water sports.
In
Oaxaca, influences from the Spanish and Native Indians are seen among
the colonial buildings and cathedrals. Walk past sidewalk cafes, shops and
be sure not to miss the old convent of Santo Domingo, now a well-restored
museum showcasing the town's heritage.
