Norway,
the ‘Land of the midnight Sun’, has much more to offer than just long summer
days. Enchanting cities, fishing villages and numerous historical sites are
ready to accommodate, not to mention the countryside – forests, sunny
beaches and fjords.
The capital
Oslo has lots to
see and do. You can choose to explore its districts, or simply make the most
of its museums and green spaces.
Central Norway boasts the country's highest mountains, largest glacier
and most spectacular fjords.
Bergen
is the main jumping-off point for the western fjords. Take a road trip, or
climb aboard the Oslo-Bergen railway which passes through mountain ranges
and Hardanger plateau.
Tromso is the 'Gateway to the Arctic'. Dominated by street music,
cultural events and plenty of pubs, snow-capped mountains provide the scenic
backdrop. Meanwhile, Hammerfest claims to be the northernmost town in
the world – the perfect location for viewing the Northern Lights. Or, stay
in Sogndal and visit Jotunheimen National Park.
