Malaysia
is one of Asia’s richly exotic destinations with a wealth of
attractions.
Kuala Lumpur (KL)
boasts the Petronas Towers, affording a bird’s eye view of the capital
dominated by mosques, colonial buildings and street markets. Or, escape to
the Cameron Highlands
where the climate and scenery is a welcome alternative to the city bustle.
A glaring contrast is the coastal city of
Melacca, just a few hours south of
KL where visitors are drawn to the well-preserved Portuguese and Dutch
architecture. The Western part of Malaysia offers popular leisure spots such
as Langkawi and
Penang.
For an interesting road trip, take a drive along the east coast passing by
the towns of
Kuantan, Perhentian
and Redang (s. Islands and Beaches of
Pahang) . There are some great diving options to be found in the scenic
Tioman Islands just a ferry
ride off Mersing.
Setting your sights on greater heights? Mount Kinabalu near the resorts of
Kota Kinabalu is a gently
rising climb, its height almost at par with the Himalayas.

South
Africa without a doubt is a breathtaking, yet complex country. Often
serving as a mid-way ‘stop-off’ point for worldwide travellers, its
popularity has grown significantly in the last decade.
Table Mountain provides a spectacular backdrop to Cape Town. A diverse
and vibrant city, its main waterfront and glorious beaches, closeness to the
distinctive Stellenbosch wine district and easy access to the wonderful
terrain and wildlife of Cape Point Nature Reserve make Cape Town an ideal
destination.
Travelling east away from the city, the world-renowned Garden Route –
incorporating the Western Cape - takes in mountain landscapes, coastal
villages, lagoons, sand dunes...and more wilderness! A favourite all-year
round, be sure to stay in Wilderness, George, Mossel Bay and, for something
a little different, Oudtshoorn.

The
Philippines are the latest addition to our global network of hotels,
so there’s no better time to visit!
Its capital Manila is
a thriving metropolis. Modern and colonial architecture intertwine, and
combined with a vibrant market life and museums, celebrate the country’s
unique culture.
If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, escape to the
spectacular rice terraces surrounding Banaue. Described as the eighth
wonder of the world, these remarkable terraces were carved into the hillside
over 2000 years ago.
Other destinations worth visiting include Boracay Island for its
famous white beaches, the ‘chocolate hills’ of Bohol in the Visayas and the
volcanic crater Lake Taal - southwest of Manila.
Not surprisingly, with over 7000 islands, the Philippines are perfect for
diving and snorkelling. There are also wonderful hiking and trekking
opportunities in the Quezon Province, or you can explore
Palawan's Underground
River, a long meandering network of caves in Sabang's Puerto Princesa
Subterranean National Park.

Perfectly
situated on the Adriatic Coast, Croatia’s
fascinating cities, irresistible coastline, sun and cheap living make it a
fantastic destination.
Its capital Zagreb is an exciting culmination of Eastern and Western
Europe. The city is renowned for it’s many baroque and gothic churches, and
you can get fantastic views of the city from the Lotrscak Tower in the
North-west.
Although Dubrovnik was heavily shelled in the early 1990s, the old town
of Stari Grad has been restored to its historical marble-paved squares,
steep cobbled streets and delightful architecture. However, the highlight of
your visit will probably be the city’s fortified walls, built between the
13th and 16th centuries.
Or, visit Split, the largest Croatian city on the Adriatic coast. To the
north-east, the ancient ruins of Solin lie amongst the vineyards – arguably
the most interesting archaeological site in Croatia.
