Sedana Golf & Country Club is an internationally designed 18-hole golf course and club facility within an exclusive residential community. The course is designed by Mark F. Rathert, who believes in creating environmentally responsible courses which blend with the natural surroundings. Combining modern technology and strategic design principles, the course is designed to allow players to walk through the gentle rolling terrain over and around the strategically placed lakes, streams and sand bunkers. The lush tropical landscape creates a beautiful view which can be enjoyed by golfers. Golf at Sedana is both challenging to play and pleasing to the eye. The 565 yards long hole 4 is a great par 5, where not only distance, but certainly shot making is a must. The back nine is the more beautiful part of the course, which generally can be considered to be a friendly one.

Pantai Kapuk Indah is a par 72 championship course located adjacent to the Java Sea. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones and features gently rolling fairways and lots of palm trees. When the wind blows from the sea, Pantai Kapuk Indah turns into a rather difficult test for golfers of high handicap. It's not only a long course, but certainly not an easy one from the back tees. The friendly white tees and the accomodating ladies tee, however, make playing this course great fun. New Zealander Frank Nobilo, in 199.., reached top honours on this layout during the Indonesian Open.
Klub Golf Senayan
DESIGN : J. Michael Poellot
HOLES : 18
PAR : 70
BLUE TEE : 6,158 yds RATING 70.5 SLOPE 125
WHITE TEE : 5,770 yds RATING 69 SLOPE 115
RED TEE : 5,116 yds RATING 70.6 SLOPE 120

Klub Golf Senayan is the only city golf course in Jakarta. Formerly known as the Kebayoran Golf Course, over a period of 35 years, Senayan became a cornerstone of Indonesia's golfing tradition. Its downtown location makes it a very popular course with the business community of Jakarta. The par 70 city park-type layout is renowned for its traditional "tight" tree-lined fairways and is a good test for golfers of all levels. Unlike many of the newer course designs, Senayan is not a mere test of strength and distance, but a measure of accuracy and shot making. The old "cow grass" fairways have recently been changed to Bermuda grass, while the greens are consistently among the best in today's golf in Indonesia. The many types of mature trees are Senayan's greatest defence. It's a great course to play and delight to walk.
Padang Golf Jaya Ancol
DESIGN : Ir. Ciputra
HOLES : 18
PAR : 71
BLUE TEE : 5,821 m
WHITE TEE : 5,364 m
RED TEE : 4,821 m

Padang Golf Jaya Ancol is set amid a landscape of swaying coconut trees and fresh-water ponds and is situated inside the Disneyland-like Ancol amusement Park. The 6,501 yard long course is a standard type of course and it is known for its narrow and short fairways due to the fact that it has been projected on a rather small land area within the Ancol Park. Because of its narrowness and projection of some of the fairways, in combination with strategically placed water hazards and bunkers, the course is an interesting one to play. It resembles some of the beach-golf resorts in Hawaii. Non-golfing members of the family will find plenty to do in the Ancol amusement park. There's the famous Ancol Pasar Seni (Art Market), SeaWorld, a large public swimming pool area, the Fantasy World Theme Park and two international standard hotels. A stone throw away from the course one can stroll along the beach of the Jakarta Bay. From Ancol boats are leaving to the islands in the Java Sea which are known as the Pulau Seribu (Thousand Islands).
Pondok Indah Golf
DESIGN : Robert Trent Jones, Jr
HOLES : 18
PAR : 72
BLUE TEE : 6,907 yds RATING 73.3 SLOPE 133
WHITE TEE : 6,479 yds RATING 71.3 SLOPE 131
RED TEE : 5,777 yds RATING 72.7 SLOPE 130

The Pondok Indah 18-hole layout was the first course Robert Trent Jones, Jr. built in Indonesia. On a relatively small landspace Trent Jones showed his magical skill as a designer by constructing the outward nine in a clockwise direction outside of the inward nine that runs the opposite way.
The predominant feature on the course is the Grogol river, that snakes through the course and forms an extra handicap on especially the back nine. The gently rolling fairways, gigantic bunkers, strategically placed ponds and some rather large greens makes playing this course challenging.
The par 4 hole #7 is the handicap stroke 1 hole on the course, while hole #13, the 377 yards par 4, is the second most difficult hole. In 1983 Pondok Indah played host to the World Cup of Golf. The course is located in the posh Pondok Indah residential area next to the Pondok Indah shopping mall and only a short car-ride away from Jakarta's business district. The course has easy access to the new Pondok Indah toll road connecting this part of South Jakarta with all the major thoroughfares. Because of its close proximity to the city and the South Jakarta residential areas Kemang, Cipete, Cilandak and Lebak Bulus the course is very popular with business people who are able to put in a quick round of golf before they are being called for duty at their office. Hotel Kristal is conveniently located close to the course and offers golfers a great place to stay. From this part of town all of the major hotels are located within a 30 to 40 minute drive.

Destined to take its place among the world's great courses, Rainbow Hill (Bukit Pelangi) is definitely one of Indonesia's finest golf courses. Designed by J. Michael Poellot Golf Design Group (JMP), Rainbow Hill is located within the majestic highlands of the Bogor region. The course takes full advantage of a picturesque setting carefully adapting the abundant natural gifts of the site into a spectacular golf landscape. Each fairway is carefully sculptured into the site to create an exciting series of 18 holes, each distincly different from the last. Holes 8, 9, 13, 17 and 18 for example, provide astonishing visual drama. Hole 13, without any doubt, is the signature hole.
Designed to accomodate and reward golfers of all abilities, length and power off the tee are not the most critical elements to play well. You'll be required to make important choices as you think your way around this course . Finesse and quality will be rewarded, for this course encourages initiative and the well-placed shot. No matter what you score card reads, as you stroll from the final green you will take with you a sense of pride, satisfaction and accomplishment, eagerly looking forward to your next chance to play at Rainbow Hill.

Emeralda Golf & Country Club is located some 30 minutes away from Jakarta's busy center and has an easy access from the Jagorawi toll road. Emeralda offers members and other players a possibility of "mix & match" of three different 9-hole courses. The River- and Lake Course were designed by golfing legend Arnold Palmer and they are typical of a Palmer trademark in which nature, landscaping, and a sense of fun and playability always will be incorporated.
Set against the stunning foothills of Mount Salak, the gently undulating courses offer a wide variety of challenging playing conditions with lots of water and bunkers placed at strategic places in the fairway or in front of the green on nine out of the 18 holes. The challenge, however, will always be determined by the amount of risk a golfer wishes to take.
The club is operated by CCA International, which owns and operates the Mercantile Club and Mercantile Athletic Club in Jakarta amongst others.

COURSE : Emeralda Golf & Country Club, North Course
DESIGN : Jack Nicklaus
HOLES : 9
PAR : 35
BLACK TEE : 3,280 m
BLUE TEE : 3,129 m
WHITE TEE : 2,968 m
RED TEE : 2,705 m
YELLOW TEE : 2,342 m

The Plantation Course at Emeralda is actually meant to be the front nine of the 18-hole North Course Jack Nicklaus was asked to design. The economical crisis in Asia, and by which Indonesia was hit in July '97, had put the finishing of the total project temporarily on hold. The Plantation Course, like all of the Nicklaus courses, is a testing, challenging and very enjoyable course to play for golfers of all handicap level.
According to Nicklaus himself, the course was designed to be friendly to the new and high handicap golfers, while sternly testing to the most seasoned golfers from the championship tees. This Nicklaus "front nine" was part of the total 18-hole course setup which was created through "mix & match" in December '97 to host the prestigeous Johnnie Walker Super Tour, bringing golfing giants like Nick Faldo, Ernie Els, Jesper Parnevik and Ian Woosnam and Asian golfing star Felix Casas to Emeralda. In 1995 the Alfred Dunhill Asian Masters was competed at Emeralda and was won by New Zealander Michael Campbell.
Gunung Geulis Country Club

COURSE : Gunung Geulis Country Club, West Course
DESIGN : Thomson & Wolveridge
HOLES : 18
PAR : 71
BLUE TEE : 6,085 m RATING 73.1 SLOPE 138
WHITE TEE : 5,643 m RATING 70 SLOPE 134

Gunung Geulis means "beautiful mountain". Some 500 meter above sea level this majestic mountain-side golf resort offers 2 18-hole courses of which the oldest is the West Course (1992). Watched by its name giver and standing on the ever impressive opening hole, one has a bird's eye view on the valley from which Thomson & Wolveridge carved out this boulder- and rock-rich layout. The tree opening holes will definitely determine the attitude of players on the remainder of this course. From teebox 1, most likely one of Asia's most beautiful holes, your tee shot plunges down a good 40 meters onto a fairly narrow fairway with 3 intimidating bunkers and an OB area on the right. A commuter will take the golfers down a long and winding road to this fairway. Hole 2 offers golfers a choice of twin fairways, either the high one on the left or the low one on the right. Both of these options demand a perfect and rather long tee shot for a second shot into a blind green. The Par's 5 hole 6, 9 and 12 are long and amongst the most difficult holes on the course. The two-tiered green of the 200 meter par 3 hole 3 rolls further down hill and lies some 20 meters below the tee box. Hitting this green demands precise club selection.

COURSE : Gunung Geulis Country Club, East Course
DESIGN : Thomson & Wolveridge
HOLES : 18
PAR : 72
BLACK TEE : 6,056 m RATING 73.2 SLOPE 138
BLUE TEE : 5,644 m RATING 71.7 SLOPE 131
WHITE TEE : 5,116 m RATING 69.9 SLOPE 124
LADIES TEE : 4,565 m RATING 71.3 SLOPE 121

The East Course at Gunung Geulis is a buggy course. The front nine is situated in the lower Part of the terrain and is called the Valley Course, while the back nine is projected on the hill side of the terrain and is therfore named the Hill Course. Like on the West Course, the par 5 holes 3 and 13, and the par 4 opening hole are amongst the most difficult holes on the course.
The opening shot is being played from an elevated tee box while the fairway is halfway cut by a small ravine-type of a rather deep hazzard. Laying up with an iron in front of this hazzard is the way to go, so club selection is the secret on this hole. The 8th hole par 5 is water-rich on the left and a strategically placed fairway bunker on the left of the landing area comes into play for the longer hitters. The course plays seemingly more difficult in comParison with the West Course, even though it is shorter. However, it offers players of all levels of skill an enjoyable day out on the course and in an area where the air is crisp and clean.
Jagorawi Golf & Country Club

COURSE : Jagorawi Golf & Country Club, Old Course
DESIGN : Thomson & Wolveridge
HOLES : 18
PAR : 72
BLUE TEE : 6,023 m RATING 72.3 SLOPE 135
WHITE TEE : 5,604 m RATING 70.1 SLOPE 132
RED TEE : 4,815 m RATING 71.2 SLOPE 128

Jagorawi is one of Indonesia's premier Golf & Country Clubs. Situated in the Cikeas river valley, the Old Course was designed by Thomson & Wolveridge and has the reputation of being one of the most beautiful courses in the Asia Pacific region. It's a tree rich, narrow fairwayed and demanding layout. A lost ball is a lost ball and playing back from any of the adjacent fairways is out of the question, simply because the terrain doesn't offer that possibility. Accuracy, rather than long, is the important factor in playing this majestic course. Make sure you bring enough spare balls in the bag.
The tee box of hole 1 overlooks a stunning par 5, from which your tee shot plunges some 50 meters into an impressive rolling fairway. The par 5 holes 1, 5, 10 and 15 and the par 4 holes 12 and 18 are amongst the toughest on the course. Risking it all on the holes can be a very costly wager indeed.
Visitor are allowed but must be accompanied by members.
Since September 1998, Jagorawi boasts a 12-room luxurious, yet very affordable hotel facility, The Lodge At Jagorawi. It offers guests an intimate "home away from home" with direct access to 45 holes of championship golf.

The new course was designed by Thomson & Wolveridge and was host to the Indonesian Open in 1997 (winner Graig Perry). During practice rounds for the '97 Indonesia Open, the majority of the pros lost between 2 and 6 balls on this nearly 6500 meter long lay out, and they rated the course not only as one of the toughest in Asia, but as one of the most demanding too. However, from the white and ladies tee this course is a gentle giant. Some incredibly beautiful holes, like the par 5 1st hole, the par 5 10th, the par 3 11th, the par 4 12th, the par 3 15th, and the par 5 16th, will guarantee golfers an unforgettable experience.
Holes 1, 8, 10 and 16 are amongst the toughest on the course. In comparison to the Old Course at Jagorawi, playing back from some of the adjacent fairways on this New Course is possible.

COURSE : Jagorawi Golf & Country Club, Z-Nine
DESIGN : Zakir & Max Wexler
HOLES : 9
PAR : 35
BLUE TEE : 2,867 m
WHITE TEE : 2,644 m
LADIES TEE : 2,298 m

There, where the Cikeas river valley is at its ultimate beauty, Jagorawi Golf & Country Club's latest addition of holes, the New Nine, is situated. This makes Jagorawi the one and only club in Indonesia offering 45 holes of championship golf. Setting out from tee box no. 1, on the lower Part of the valley, the finishing hole no. 9 ends on the highest Part and offer golfers a bird's eye view on the tropical fiolage in which the Jagorawi courses are located. The course was designed by Zakir and his close friend Max Wexler and they chose to weave the beauty of the valley into the course. The fairways are laid across a rolling table land, bisected by small ravines and the ever streaming Cikeas river, which, at some places cut the fairway or has to be crossed by footbridges (8x). The par 4 hole 2 (don't leave your drive too short), the par 3 hole 3, hole 4 (a par 5 with an island green) the par 4 hole 5 and the par 3 hole 9, with its elevated tee and hardly no fairway to play with and a green which is guarded in the front by 2 gigantic pot bunkers, are amongst the toughest. This 9 hole course is a tough little cookie and can be played in a "mix & match" format with the Old Course at Jagorawi.
Visitors are allowed, but must be accompanied by members.

The Bogor region is often called the new Mecca of Indonesian golf. Right in the very heart of it and surrounded by more than 10 different quality courses, one can find Klub Golf Bogor Raya (KGBR).
This Graham Marsh designed course offers a friendly challenging game to players of all levels of skill in absolute tranquility, amidst panoramic views and perfect mountain backdrops. KGBR has an easy access from the Jagorawi Toll Road, which takes visitors from Jakarta to Bogor in less than 45 minutes. The same toll road takes visitors from Bogor to Jakarta's international airport in less than one hour. KGBR not only boasts an attractive 18-hole lay out, but also the Novotel Bogor. The latter offers all the facilities one can expect from a 4-star resort hotel and that makes it an ideal place to stay even for non-golfing members of the family.
In the Bogor region some exciting places to visit, like for instance the Puncak (the cool mountain resort area with the famous tea plantations), Taman Safari (where the famous Sumatran tiger still roams freely), and tha amazing Bogor Botanical Garden are all located within less than 45 minutes from KGBR and the Novotel.

WHITE TEE : 5,794 m RATING 71.4 SLOPE 135

Lido's 18-hole international standard course is without doubt an incredibly beautiful and challenging course. The distance (some 70 km) from Jakarta, however, makes it a bit of a problem to get Jakartans to play out there. During weekdays, it's easy to be out on the course all by yourself and making you feel like if you're playing your own privte little course. The Aryaduta Hotel, which conveniently is located at the entrance of the Lido complex, could solve the problem of making the long trip from Jakarta, which can cost you up to 2 hours. Lido, truly is an much neglected course for the above mentioned reason. It's a very attractive layout, with some great holes, tee boxes and greens offering player some of the best views on Mount Salak and the surroundings of this cool and mountainous region. From hole 17, players are being offered a truly spectacular view over a valley, which lies some 200 meters below. The mountains in the backdrop complete the breathtaking vista.
Our advise to any golfer who visits Jakarta or the Bogor region: Go play Lido. It's worth the trip and guaranteed, you'll be coming back for more.
Palm Hill Country Club
DESIGN : Tom Matteson
HOLES : 18
PAR : 72
BLUE TEE : 6,817 yds
WHITE TEE : 6,259 yds
RED TEE : 5,181 yds

The gently undulated Palm Hill 18-hole course is situated in the grand flat among the surrounding palm hills of Mount Bogor. Developed and designed by Japan's Taisei Corporation, this friendly course offers players a layout which allows playing back of strayed shots from nearly every adjacent fairway. A 20 meter wide creek separates hole 10 through 15 from the rest of the holes, while water has to be crossed on hole 7, 11, 13, and 15. On holes 5, 7, 9 and 18 water comes into play either from the tee box, or from the landing area. Like all of the courses in the Bogor region, this course offers marvelous views. 1500 meter high Mount Bogor, in the distance, majestically looks down on the course, which fairways are laid with Bermuda grass. Fairways and greens are well maintained, while the whole course is kept in tip-top condition. The spacious, Spanish-styled, cobalt-blue roofed club house, is fully airconditioned. It's menu card offers a wide variety of Western and Indonesian dishes.

PAR : 72
PROFESSIONAL TEE : 6,931 yds
CHAMPIONSHIP TEE : 6,546 yds
MEN REGULAR TEE : 6,113 yds
LADIES TEE : 5,463 yds

Rancamaya is an absolute beauty of a course. Tucked away in an area right at the end of the Jagorawi toll road, against the backdrop of a scenic mountain landscape, nearly every hole is world class. That certainly goes for the opening hole, where tee shots plunge a good 60 meters onto a fairway which is guarded on the right side of the landing area by a man-made lake. The rather small undulating green can only be reached with a precision shot. Shorts, short to the right of the green can end up in the water. The green of hole 4 is only reachable in two when your tee shot is placed in the dogleg right downhill sloping fairway, and when it lands there, where you are secured of a decent lie. The par 5 hole 8 is 531 yards long, and only a precise tee shot and a well placed second enable players to go on in three. The par 3 hole 14 is certainly no walk over. From way above players have to hit a secure shot onto a green which not only lies way below the tee box, but also is guarded by bunkers and water to the front. You're going to love this course.

MEN'S REGULAR TEE : 6,093 yds RATING 69.9 SLOPE 127
LADIES & JUNIORS TEE : 5,369 yds RATING 72 SLOPE 122

On February 1, 1995, Greg Norman, Riverside's designer and spiritual father, came over to Riverside with his good friend Nick Price to play the inaugural round. Five years on, the course matured into one of Indonesia's most beautiful lay outs. Located alongside the Jagorawi toll road, the front nine sets out towards this busy thoroughfare and particularly on hole 5 and 6 golfers may be distracted by the ever flowing traffic.
Single handicappers might like to have a go from the tough Tournament tee, having to bridge a total of nearly 7000 meters over 18 holes. It is here where Greg Norman "the designer", changed cap with Greg Norman "the player". Long, demanding and challenging. The more friendly tee box is the Men's regular (white) and offers golfers a lot of great shots and options to choose from. The back nine seems to be a little less interesting due to the lack of holes of the quality of for instance hole 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 on the front nine. All in all, Riverside is a course not to be missed by any player who is looking for the right combination of beauty and challenge in a course. Take the Gunung Putri exit on the Jagorawi toll road and follow the Riverside sign to get there.

The 18-hole, par 72 Satelindo course was opened for play on May 17, 1997 and is one of the few public courses in the Bogor & Puncak area. Designed by Gary Palmer, the course is up to an international standard and is situated in the prestigious fully integrated Royal Sentul Highland (Bukit Sentul) resort. Like all of the courses in the Bogor & Puncak region, Satelindo is a beauty to play. The opening hole plays away from the clubhouse and is the prelude to a course that, like a giant snake, meanders through the entire Bukit Sentul resort land area. Hole 18 contrary to most courses, finishes away from the clubhouse, at the entrance of the resort to be more more precise. Players are being shuttled back from there to the clubhouse. The back nine, although shorter than the front nine, is the more difficult part of the course. Shot making and placing is important here.
Satelindo, once was home to the Gary Player Golf Academy, but the crisis made them pull back temporarily. Satelindo offers a three hole practice layout (par 4, 3 and 4) for beginners, and a practice putting green and a fully equipped driving range.

Bumi Serpong Damai is a Jack Nicklaus designed championship layout. Driving up to the club house the huge and enormous bunkers are hard to ignore. Some of them even look like beaches. At Bumi Serpong, Nicklaus has tried to create a course which is playable for every type of golfers, whether a high or low handicapper. It's a course any one should have played at least once, not only because it's a Nicklaus designed course, but certainly also because of its beauty and challenging character when played from the back tees.

Gading Raya Padang Golf Club is a brand new course (less than 3 years old) and is the second course in Indonesia which was designed by Australian top golfer Graham Marsh. Marsh is renowned for designing courses which are not too difficult, but challenging and above all fun to play. Gading Raya is such a course and it offers a satifying round for golfers of all skills.
Because of its relative young age the course needs maturing and the hundreds of palm trees planted on the course will one day become an important eye pleaser. Like most of the better courses in Indonesia, Gading Raya offers a well designed and tasteful facility. The Terrace Restaurant features three different cuisines.

The 6,907 yard, international standard course, was designed by Desmond Muirhead and is a public facility. It's an open and rather flat course with lots of artificial undulations. The wind, deep and sometimes long and wide bunkers in all sort of shapes and interesting water hazards - the later coming into play on 9 out of the 18 holes - add to the course's challenge. Holes 4 and 5 have a so called island green, while the 563 yard par 5 hole 9 and the 584 yard long par 5 hole 18 are the most difficult holes on the course. The club boasts a 300 yard driving range and a chipping-and-putting and bunker shot practice are. The course is located adjacent to the 5-star Imperial Century Hotel and the Super Mall for all your shopping needs.
