Newsletter #45 Hotel & Tours Group - Kuala Lumpur

Featured Destination
Kuala Lumpur, (popularly known as KL) is the cultural and economic center of Malaysia and is also the residence of the King. Founded in 1857, it is relatively young compared to other Malaysian cities.
The airport, located 50 km away from the city, is an easy entry point with several major airlines flying to KL direct. Traveling around the city is almost hassle free with three separate rail transport systems linking all major spots in the city and the surrounding suburbs.
Budget accommodation in KL is mainly found in and around the Chinatown area, while mid-range and luxury KL hotels are located in the Golden Triangle area, which is filled with trendy shops, restaurants and entertainment. The city has a vibrant nightlife, with chic nightclubs and bars. The Golden Triangle, Bintang, and Heritage Row areas are the most popular places to find pulsating music and enticing cocktails.
Kuala Lumpur has a wealth of restaurants, coffee shops and street carts. Just be aware that most restaurants close by 10 pm, though if hunger strikes late, the food stalls are sure to be open and offering amazing authentic Malaysian cuisine.
As previously noted, KL is famed for its architecture, and shopping. The Petronas Twin Towers are a favorite sight for tourists, and beneath the towers is the Suria KLCC, one of Malaysia’s premier shopping destinations. In recent times, KL has developed into a shopping destination with over 60 shopping malls, in addition to the markets and their locally manufactured products. It is further enhanced by the Mega Sale, which takes place three times per year during the months of March, May and December.
