Evocative Inn set in 16th-century medieval tower in secluded location at
city wall, near bus station.
This hotel is located to the north of the city walls, right in the centre
of Avila old town. It is housed in a former XVth century palace known as
"Piedras Blancas".
The rooms are in general spacious with beautiful decorative elements,
granite and abode floors, bright colours and some with four posterd beds.
It is traditionally decorated according to the region's style with a cosy
wooden floor offering a wide and exquisite selection of the region's
specialities. It overlooks the beautiful garden and the walls.
The garden stands out, with archaeological remains, as does the magnificent
glazed patio, the modular rooms and the cafeteria.

Reviews:
My room was very pretty, clean, and very much a room in a Spanish castle. I
had dark wood shutters, almost floor to ceiling, to cover the window at night.
The furniture was not elegant but comfortable and nicely decorated. I loved
the atmosphere of this hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Although only one desk clerk spoke fluent English. the others knew at least a
little, everyone made their best effort to communicate and, using a little
Spanish and a little English, everything always worked out fine. The dining
room had both Spanish and English menus, and the food was always delicious. I
would definitely stay here again in Avila and would recommend it to anyone
traveling there.
--------------------
The hotel is nice, in an old castle, however for the price I paid, I had a
room facing the street and therefore with a fairly bad view. Considering that
the main point of this hotel is the fact it's right on the walls of Avila,
this was a fairly weak point. Nevertheless it's not bad. Also, the parking in
the hotel was full (and anyway very expensive), so I had to park on the street
and got a ticket!
