Skiiing plays a very important role in this region owing to the presence of the Baqueira Beret station, which boasts extensive slopes with a drop in altitude of up to 1000 metres. In the Free Mountain shop you can find all manner of accessories so that you can enjoy a day on the snow. There is also a ski and snowboard school. It is located 182 km from Lleida, 319 km from Barcelona and 163 km from Toulouse in France. As well as its fine skiing, the local area is also famous for its Romanesque architecture and the fantastic scenery of the Aigüestortes National Park. Hotels Baqueira-Beret Candanchu Candanchu in the Aragon Pyrenees has a reputation for hard skiing. It lies 385km from Barcelona which is the nearest international airport.
