On this tour you will have the opportunity to climb the Sigiriya Rock
Fortress built in 5th Century A.D.and also visit all the sites of ancient
kingdom where you will gain a better understanding of the island's remarkably
rich cultural and religious history. Uncover lesser known, but still
entrancing, remains of Sri Lanka's cultural past.
Visit the Golden Rock Cave Temple at Dambulla before continuing to Kandy.
Enroute to Kandy you will visit the exotic Spice Gardens and in Kandy you will
visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Bazaar and Arts and Crafts Center, the
Temple of the Tooth and the performance of Kandyan Cultural Dance group.
Proceeding to hill country town Nuwara Eliya known for its invigorating
mountain climate and scenery where you will enjoy a visit to a tea plantation
and a tea factory and tour of Nuwara Eliya city. Then depart to Unawatuna in
the South Coast, en route visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela. Then onto
Galle with a brief sightseeing tour of Galle the Colonial Dutch town and its
well preserved 17th century Fortress, finishing the tour off with a day at the
Beach relaxing at your leisure.

Itinerary:
Day 01 - Colombo / Dambulla
Meet and greet on arrival at the Colombo International Airport and transfer
to Dambulla - check in at the Culture Club - late afternoon climb the Sigiriya
Rock Fortress built by King Kassyapa (5th Century A.D.) - a world heritage
site and one of the wonders of ancient architecture containing the world
famous frescoes 'Heavenly Maidens' painted on the rock. Return to hotel for
dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02 - Dambulla / Polonnaruwa / Dambulla
After breakfast depart to Anuradhapura - the First Capital of Sri Lanka.
Here you will see the remains of the Brazen Palace, the Sri Maha Bodhi (a Bo
tree over 2000 years old) and the ruins of the Ruwanweliseya, Jethavanaramaya
and Abhayagiri Dagobas - after sightseeing you will continue to Polonnaruwa
the medieval capital of Sri Lanka in the 11th and 12th centuries - here a
visit to the ruins of the Royal Palace, Lankatilleke Vihare, Thuparama Image
House, Gal Vihare and the Lotus Ponds before returning to hotel for dinner and
overnight stay. (with a possibility of viewing wild elephants grazing in the
evening on the wayside).

Day 03 - Dambulla / Kandy
Following breakfast visit the Rangiri (the Golden Rock) Cave Temple at
Dambulla before continuing to Kandy. Enroute to Kandy you will visit the
exotic Spice Garden at Matale. Check in at the Le Kandyan Hotel. By late
afternoon depart for a sightseeing tour of Kandy including the Royal Botanical
Gardens at Peradeniya, Lake Drive, a visit to the Bazaar and Arts and Crafts
Center. A late evening visit to the Temple of the Tooth is also planned
followed by a performance by the Kandyan Cultural Dance group - return to
Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04 - Kandy / Nuwara Eliya / Kandy
Following breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya the Hill Capital, where enroute
you will visit a Tea Plantation and Tea Factory - leave on a sightseeing tour
of Nuwara Eliya - drive through Little England - return to Le Kandyan for
dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05 - Kandy / Unawatuna
Following breakfast depart to Unawatuna in the South Coast enroute visit
the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela - check in at hotel for dinner and
overnight stay.

Day 06 - Unawatuna / Galle / Unawatuna
Following breakfast a brief sightseeing tour of Galle the Colonial Dutch
town and its well preserved 17th century Fortress - at leisure on the Beach -

Day 07 - Unawatuna / Colombo
