Nepal Travel - Adventure Tours Nepal
Trekking in the Annapurna region provides dramatic contrasts between
green terraced farmland of the Marshyangdi valley and the massive peaks
of the western portion of the great Annapurna. These peaks include
Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Ganagapurna, Annapurna III and
Machhapuchhare. They are arranged almost precisely in a circle about 10
miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheatre at the
centre. In spite of the great heights of the surrounding peaks and ice
walls, the valley floor between provides comfortable camping spots and
some of the best trekking in Nepal. Highlights include: the Thorong La
(5416m), which must be crossed on the Annapurna Circuit trek, to reach

Dhaulagiri is particularly striking. Descend into the world's deepest
river gorge, carved by the mighty Kali Gandaki River, as it slices
