Vietnam Northern Trek - 8 Days
- This colourful eight day trip starts
with a tour of Hanoi, a city full of lakes, boulevards and Ho Chi Minh's
Mausoleum.There are three key elements: trekking in the far north, the
famous Sapa market and a cruise on Halong Bay. Trekking, for up to five
hours a day, is a great way to explore Vietnam near the Chinese border with
its high mountain valleys laced with stunning rice terraces, forests,
waterfalls and indigenous hill tribes who inhabit these isolated regions.
The dominating Hoang Lien mountain range, the highest in South East Asia,
will shadow your route as you trek these paths from one remote village to
another. The people who live here are friendly but still unaccustomed to
travelers who periodically show up. We will be eating fresh food, cooked
over wooden fire pits and experience hill-tribe life that remains virtually
uninfluenced by the outside world. Before returning to Hanoi cruise through
the stunning limestone islets that have made Halong Bay a World Heritage
site, staying overnight on a traditional junk.
Vietnam Family Adventure - 14 Days
- Discover the highlights of Vietnam as you journey with us from north to
south. We start our tour in the northern capital Hanoi, where we explore the
magical old quarter and French colonial districts by cyclo, and in the
evening watch the famous Water Puppet Show. We drive through the beautiful
Ninh Binh province to Cuc Phuong, Vietnam’s oldest National Park and home to
an amazing variety of wildlife. We visit the Endangered Primate Rescue
Centre and watch a traditional dance by Muong villagers. We trek through the
rainforest to caves once inhabited by prehistoric humans, and have the
option to go “night spotting”. Next stop is Halong Bay, where we spend 2
nights on board a traditional junk boat, cruising the emerald waters,
exploring some of the limestone caves and islands, swimming and fishing.
Flying to Hoi An we have a walking tour of this beautiful town, a beach BBQ
and boat trip, with free time to relax, shop at the many tailor shops, or
take a Vietnamese cooking lesson. Another flight takes us to Saigon, where
we explore the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta and for more fun we can
arrange a trip to the Saigon Water Park.
Vietnam Discovered - 15 Days
- "There is nothing more precious than independence and freedom." - Ho Chi
Minh Vietnam is emerging as one of the world's greatest travel destinations.
In this trip - covering this country in fifteen days, we witness its great
variety, from Hanoi in the north to the miles of sandy beaches in the south,
from the great cities of Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi and Hue, to the beachside resort
of Nha Trang. Arriving in Hanoi, the capital and a city full of lakes and
boulevards, we visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and take a walk through the
bustling old quarter. In Halong Bay we stay on a traditional junk boat
cruising the thousands of limestone islets whilst being served world
renowned Vietnamese cuisine. Then it's aboard the Reunification Express for
our overnight journey to Hue, the former capital and seat of the Nguyen
dynasty. The emperor's mausoleums make it a cultural highlight. From there
to the old trading port of Hoi An, a beautiful riverside town, and then on
to the wonderful resort of Nha Trang where there is the option to go
snorkeling or diving, or simply relax on the white sandy beaches. We then
fly to Ho Chi Minh where a highlight is a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, an
underground base that hid 10,000 members of the Communist Vietcong army. Our
final day sees us traveling by boat along the Mekong Delta.
Vietnam Combination - 18 Days
- We start out in Hanoi, a city full of French colonial architecture, lakes
and boulevards and then continue onto our trek in the north of Vietnam.We
trek for up to five hours a day in the mountain valleys with their stunning
rice terraces, forests, waterfalls and indigenous hill tribes who inhabit
these isolated regions.After three days of trekking we return to Hanoi and
then move on to Halong Bay. In Halong Bay our boat cruises the thousands of
limestone islets.Then we take the Reunification Express for an overnight
journey to Hue, the former capital and seat of the Nguyen dynasty. Our tour
includes the emperors' mausoleum and a trip on the Perfume River. We visit
the picturesque town of Hoi An, before moving south to the contrasting yet
wonderful resort of Nha Trang, to relax on the white sandy beaches or take
up the option of snorkelling and diving Then it's on to Ho Chi Minh City,
where a highlight is a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground base that
hid 10,000 troops of the Communist Vietcong army. On our final day we take a
boat trip along the Mekong Delta.
Asian Landscapes - 20 Days
- This trip is a must for travellers keen to explore the great cultural
legacies and colonial pasts of two of South East Asia's most important
countries. The Vietnam section takes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum,
Halong Bay and then Hue, the former capital and seat of the Nguyen dynasty,
with its emperors' mausoleums and a trip on the Perfume River. We visit the
picturesque town of Hoi An, before flying to Nha Trang, and its miles of
white sandy beaches. Then on to Ho Chi Minh City - formerly Saigon - a
dynamic and energetic city with visits to the Vietcong armies wartime
tunnels and the Mekong Delta. We begin the Cambodian leg in the capital
Phnom Penh, once considered one of the most beautiful cities of the Orient,
but with reminders of Cambodia's violent past. We visit the Tuol Sleng
Museum, a testament to the horrific crimes of the Khmer Rouge, before moving
on to the killing fields of Choeung Ek. The tour ends in the fabled city of
Angkor, the spectacular ancient capital of the powerful Khmer Dynasty and
home to the greatest number of religious monuments in the world.
The Golden Triangle - 28 Days
- Anyone taking this exciting journey will experience sights and sounds that
are sure to be etched in your memory for a long time. Not only will you be
able to see 3 of the leading countries in South East Asia, but also compare
their fascinating scenery, cultures and rich historical pasts. Thailand
begins in the Grand Palace and the canals of Bangkok, followed by the famous
Bridge over The River Kwai and then on to Chiang Mai, the jewel of the
north, for trekking among the hillside villages. Here we also meet the
tribes people, try bamboo rafting and stay in traditional Thai minority
village houses. On to Laos, where you will find some of the friendliest
people in the world, who welcome visitors with a smile. The highlight of any
visit is a trip along the Mekong, and we have chartered a private boat so
that you can fully enjoy its scenery and people. There are also trips to
Luang Prabang and Vientiane, the capital. In Vietnam we take you to the
lakes of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum to the startling beautiful
limestone islets that have made Halong Bay a World Heritage site. Hue with
its great cultural heritage is followed by Nha Trang and its miles of white
sandy beaches. The tour ends in Ho Chi Minh City - formerly Saigon - a
dynamic and energetic centre where we take in the markets, gardens and night
life.
Asian Explorer - 33 Days
- This is the big one. Four countries - the “jewels of Indo-China” in 33
days. Again, an exciting and memorable trip, this time taking in Thailand,
Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia with their breathtaking contrast in cultures,
history and scenery. The tour opens in Thailand among the khlongs or canals
of the capital Bangkok.
After a days sightseeing and a visit to The Bridge over The River Kwai we
head to Chiang Mai for trekking among the hillside villages of the north.
Here we travel by foot, raft and on elephant back to spend time amongst the
tribal villages, witnessing at first hand their culture and customs, and
staying in traditional Thai minority family homes. On to Laos, the
'forgotten country', and “land of a million elephants”, where the highlight
is a trip along the Mekong in a boat so that you can fully enjoy its waters,
scenery and people. There are also trips to Luang Prabang with its monks in
their bright orange robes going about their religious rituals and the sleepy
capital Vientiane, with its wide boulevards. In Vietnam we visit Ho Chi
Minh's Mausoleum in Hanoi, and then on to the startling beautiful limestone
islets that have made Halong Bay a World Heritage site, spending the night
on a traditional junk. Hue, with its cultural heritage, is followed by
quaint Hoi An and then Nha Trang, famous for its miles of white sandy
beaches. Moving on to Ho Chi Minh City - formerly Saigon - we enjoy the
electric atmosphere of this dynamic city. Cambodia, on the final leg, offers
one of the richest cultural legacies in South East Asia. The highlights are
Phnom Penh, the capital - containing many memories of the countries violent
past - and by contrast the spectacular fabled city of Angkor, home to many
exotic religious monuments and the eighth wonder of the world. |
